Gone Rural - Swaziland.

Developping traditional craft techniques and skills.
Nestled in between South Africa and Mozambique, in the Kingdom of Swaziland, are some of the oldest granite mountains in the world. It is in these mountains that the wonderful sedge grass, Lutindzi, grows and is harvested by rural families. Gone Rural has had the privilege of developing a close, mutually beneficial, relationship with these people.
Gone rural has been sourcing and developing existing traditional handskills and to create an industry of grass weaving and plaiting.

1000 families benefiting from this initiative.
Gone Rural work directly affects the lives of 1000 families in the rural areas.
Some of them are in charge of collecting the grass in the mountains, around their homes.
Grass is then collected, and another team of crafters dye it into stunning colors.
