Ithemba, Designing Hope & BHV involved in "Fashion designing Hope" since 2003
Ithemba and Designing hope have built strong links with fashion designers in order to support HIV positive women in Southern Africa through the "Fashion Designing Hope" concept.
BHV has been involved since the launch of this project in 2003, developping a strong advertising campaign and a great exposure to this project in the main windows of the department store.
The concept for Ithemba consists in developping objects, associating in their designs the creativity of fashion designers. These objects will then become income generating activities for women affected by HIV and AIDS in southern Africa.
The purchase of each item includes an important donation to Designing Hope, contributing in a very significant proportion to the funding of its local actions in Africa, including psychological, nutritional, pedagogical and medical support, as well as funding national campaigns fighting stigma attached to the epidemic.

In 2003, BHV introduced the Ithemba project with a strong advertising campaign in all metro stations in Paris. |
Embroided Lamp shades
A new collection of lampshades, has also been developped this year, using drawings given to Designing Hope by Paul Smith, Stella Cadente, Alber Elbaz pour Lanvin, JC de Castelbajac and Kris Van Assche, Hugo Boss, Nina Ricci, Paule Ka, Loulou de la Falaise, Martine Sitbon)
Drawings have been printed on fabric, then enriched by the meticulous embroidery work of a group of 30 women from Piggs Peak hospital support group, in Swaziland.
Fabric has been mounted in France on lampshade frames, providing a high quality decorative accessory.
Lampshades will be sold between 38 and 88 euros, including an 8 euros donation to Dessine l'Espoir.
